Why 'Bumble Eats'
Created by worker bees for worker bees, Bumble Eats is not just a food tech startup; it stands for hard work and dedication, much like the hardworking bees it’s named after. We are the first multi-brand food ordering platform focusing exclusively on Thai food. Our motto, "Work Hard, Eat Harder," reflects our belief that food is a reward and celebration for hard work. That’s why we make sure our meals are hassle-free and enjoyable—a well-deserved reward delivered right to you.
Our Journey
KJ Sofi (Kay), a Thai international student with a background in sports science, content creations, and marketing, had a big idea after facing frustration. She tried to find Thai food on a delivery app, but instead of Thai food, she kept seeing places like Din Tai Fung and other non-Thai options under the search term "Thai." That’s when she thought, What if there was a delivery platform just for Thai food?
She teamed up with Tony, an OG Thai restaurateur who started out washing dishes back in 1992 when Thai food was just becoming popular in Seattle. Over the years, Tony became an expert, mastering everything about cooking and running restaurants. Both KJ Sofi and Tony grew up in Thailand, and they shared a deep passion for telling the story of Thai food and keeping its flavors alive.
Together, they began testing their concept by collaborating with Thaiger Room, a small local favorite known as the longest-standing Thai restaurant in the heart of the University District. After a fire shut down Thaiger Room’s original location, KJ Sofi saw an opportunity to support the business where they both had worked.
And that’s how Bumble Eats was born—a trusted Thai food hub dedicated to transforming routine meals into exciting experiences. By celebrating the stories and ingredients that make Thai food special and sharing the warmth of Thai food through community-driven initiatives, Bumble Eats brings people together while supporting local businesses, one neighborhood at a time.
Not your cutthroat third-party delivery
Driven by a shared mission to redefine Thai food ordering and support their first kitchen partner, Thaiger Room, KJ Sofi created a unique cloud kitchen concept. Unlike traditional food delivery platforms that take substantial fees and cut into profit margins, Bumble Eats introduced a fair fee structure, allowing kitchen partners to retain the same profit as they would from in-house sales. The secret lies in crafting new food brands under the Bumble Eats umbrella, with Good Noods leading the way. This first brand offers classic yet creative Thai noodle dishes, all made by their very own renowned Thaiger Room in the University District.
